Studio's Open Weekend
What a great weekend! We had a large enthusiastic crowd come to view the gallery and art work, mainly thanks to Memory ' Can't have to many friends' Roth and her 'Birthday Party'. Visitors from Sherwood Park, Athabasca and even Spain graced our doorstep as well as Mayor Nolan Crouse. Thanks to Pearl Der and her friends for the goodies ( cinnamon buns and home made croissant and jam,) and June Haring for the lovely wine.
We unveiled the portrait Inner Light by Memory of her dear friend Mary. We even have a picture of Mary 'beside herself'!'
SUN SISTER (Laura Watmough) giclee will be going to a good home in Sherwood Park. Thanks Judy, it will look fabulous on that huge wall. FIGURE STUDY (Laura Watmough) also found a home with R. Perry of Edmonton.
Although the Studio's Open Weekend was our summer wind up, we will be busy painting until the wee hours to present another showing of the St. Albert Artists Colony before Christmas! Would you like to be on our mailing list? Contact Laura at lwatmough@shaw.ca with SAAC in the subject line. Check back regularly for more artistic updates!

July 17th Art Drive
Thanks to all that came to our Open House! The turnout was fabulous... We had a visitor as far away as Parksville , B. C. Great to see you Tony! Thanks to Scott Hayes at the St. Albert Gazette for the top notch article and the photographer for getting all five of us showing our good side! A remarkable feat in itself.
We had the back door of the Studio open to enjoy the warm summer weather and the refreshments hit the spot. Our "special guests" Jeannette Sommers, Lucille Friend, Bev Weinhandl , Sylvie Fergusson , Faye Avon and Heather Dundass made the evening entertaining and informative as guests came to peak over their shoulders!
Comments: "Didn't know this level of art was in St. Albert",
"I'm so glad I came and discovered this place!",
"Every time I come here the art amazes me!",
" I knew you painted, but I didn't expect this!",
" Can I bring my friends next time?",
"How did you make this look so real?"
On Friday we were very relieved to get the call: Your brochures are finally ready! We will be handing out these fine quality Art Drive brochure immediately. They will also be available at the Spot Light Gallery and at our next Open House August 07.

Our local race car driver even managed a quick visit and a tasty food experience!
We are eagerly waiting our brouchures from St. Albert Tourism, an unfortunate 2 week delay put us a bit behind.....c'est la vie!

Pearl Der
Pearl Der uses paint as a vehicle to explore the symbolism and mystique of her oriental heritage. Her koi and tropical floral paintings pay homage to the cultural importance of numbers, colors and the subtle meanings of feng shui and placement.
Pearl's artistic journey involves oil painting in the Old Masters Tradition where layers of paint translate into layers of meaning.
You are invited to view this unique process as Pearl paints at the St. Albert Artists Colony Studios at Hidden Talent Fine Art School. Her completed works can be viewed in the ajoining gallery. Meet the artist July 03 & 17 and August 07 & 21 from 6:00-9:00 pm.
